Prof Konai H Thaman
Professor Thaman is currently Professor of Pacific Education and Culture and holds the UNESCO Chair in Teacher Education and Culture at the University of the South Pacific. She is a member of the Joint ILO/UNESCO Committee on the Recommendation on the Status of Teachers and a Fellow of the Asia Pacific Centre for Education Innovations in Development. Professor Thaman has researched and published in the fields of Pacific curriculum and teachers, indigenous education and development, women and university management and Pacific research frameworks. She is also a widely read and published poet.
